How to Check and Verify a RERA Registration in Gurgaon

In Gurgaon, projects fall under the Gurugram bench of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA Gurugram), whose official portal is hareraggm.gov.in. The Gurugram bench covers Gurugram district only, so use this portal, not the separate Panchkula bench site (haryanarera.gov.in) that handles the rest of Haryana. Use "Search Registered Projects" to look up any apartment, plotted or commercial project by name, promoter or registration number, and "Search Registered Agent" to check the broker. Trust only the number you find on the portal, not a number printed in a brochure, hoarding or ad, and watch for look-alike or fake websites.

On the project record, match the HRERA registration number, the promoter's legal name, the sector and address, and the registration validity or completion date against what the seller tells you. Open the registration certificate and the sanctioned or approved plans, and review the Quarterly Progress Reports (QPR) that the promoter is required to upload, which show construction, booking and finance status. A registration that has lapsed, or approved plans that do not match the unit on offer, is a clear red flag.

Registration is mandatory for projects on more than 500 square metres of land or with more than 8 units, residential or commercial, so a new launch sold or advertised without a valid number should be treated with caution. Fully completed, ready and older buildings may legitimately predate RERA. Real estate agents in Haryana must also hold their own HRERA registration to market a registered project, so ask for the agent's registration number and verify it on the same portal before you pay any token or booking amount.
